Yaxin Duan was an undergraduate student in Chemical and Biological Engineering, also pursuing certificates in Environmental Studies and Sustainable Energy. Her interests lie in bioremediation and other nature-based solutions to environmental problems. Her work in the lab focused on understanding how chemotactic bacteria respond to chemoattractants in porous media.

Having grown up in Texas where snow is rare, Yaxin enjoys seeing all four seasons in Princeton. Once upon a time, she could be found at Dillon gym playing basketball or trying to learn breakdancing. She has now grown used to a sedentary lifestyle at home and is more often found daydreaming or watching Chinese dramas.
