About
Bio/Description

Meera Ramaswamy (she/her) is a PCCM postdoctoral fellow in the lab. She did her undergraduate studies in Engineering Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and her PhD in Physics at Cornell University. During her PhD she studied the rheology and microstructure of shear thickening fluids (the physics behind people walking on cornstarch and water!). She is currently interested in understanding the influence of fluid flow on bacterial motion in complex environments.

Outside the lab, Meera enjoys reading, Bharatanatyam (a classical Indian dance form), hiking, swimming, and solving sudokus. She started baking during the pandemic and now enjoys trying recipes that require a high degree of precision but also have a high failure rate.
